Registration Information
Why do I need an Online
Registration Account?
The purpose of setting up this
account is three fold:
1.
To
ensure that your information is secure.
2. To
provide you with your own web page where you are
able to login, change your password, re-print
your receipt and keep track of what you have
registered in.
3. To
be able to login with the same account, season
after season.
How do I create or access my
Account?
Registration Instructions for NEW
and EXISTING MEMBERS
1.
Type in
the following web address in your browser:
www.syhl.ca
2.
If you
are a new member, enter your email address and
password that you will choose then click on
LOG IN.
You
will then see the Welcome Screen, click on
CLICK HERE TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT
and follow the directions provided.
3.
If you
are an existing member, simply enter your email
address and password then follow the directions
provided.
Registration Screen
1. The
system will now bring you to the
Registration Screen.
Here you could
register a Player,
change your email,
change your account information
and
change your password.
You will also see a list of previously
registered people along with viewable receipts
that you could print.
2. Click
on
REGISTER A
NEW PARTICIPANT
to begin the Registration Process and follow the
directions provided.

Goalie spots
are limited
to the number of teams in each Division.
Registrations will be taken on a first come
/ first paid in full (and accepted) basis.

Online Credit Card Payment (Visa
or MasterCard only):
Using
online credit card payment is
absolutely safe.
Hockey Canada secures your personal information
from any unauthorized use. We secure your
personal information such as names and phone
numbers by protecting it through the use of the
industry standard 128-bit Encryption using
Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. At no time
does Hockey Canada store your credit card
number.

USED, THE FOLLOWING WILL BE DISPLAYED ON YOUR
CREDIT CARD STATEMENT:

Please follow the procedures
listed below if you choose this payment method:
1.
Register your player(s) online.
2.
Print
the invoice displayed online at the end of the
registration process.
3.
Write
the name of the player(s) and your phone # on
the back of the cheque.
4.
Mail
the printed invoice along with a cheque made
payable to SYHL:

There
will be a
$30 fee

Frequently Asked Questions
·
Why am I asked for my birth date
when filling in my main contact information?
This is strictly for security purposes. Your
birthdate is used during the password recovery
process. It is treated as confidential
information and cannot be viewed by any
administrator. It also allows you to register in
the correct division.
·
I forgot my password. How do I
find it?
Click
on the “Forgot
your password”
link located on the
Registration
page. You will be asked to enter the email
address you use to login. The password will be
emailed to you.
·
Is there a way of changing my
password?
Yes. You may edit your password by clicking on
the “Change
your Password”
link located under “Other Options” on your main
Registration page once you login.
·
I could not print my
invoice/confirmation page. Is there a way of
printing my invoice after I have already
registered?
Yes. If you log back into the
Online Registration site, you will receive a
listing of all of your Registrants and you will
be given the option to view and print the
receipts from there.
·
I chose cheque payment when I
registered. I have changed my mind; I would
rather pay by online credit card. How do I do
this?
You can’t. You will have to contact the Minor
Hockey Association and get them to discard your
registration. You will have to re-register again
with the proper payment option.

Which number do I use from the
Birth Certificate?
Use the registration number. It starts with the
actual year of birth.
·
Is there body-checking in House
League hockey?
There is NO body checking in our any of our
Divisions.
·
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes you can pay in instalments, but your child’s
registration is not accepted until
payment in full is received. You must pay in
full if you choose the online credit card
payment option.
·
When will I be contacted as to
what team my child is on?
Everyone should be contacted by their Coach by
end of September 2010. If you have not been
contacted by this date, please email us at
shahockey@rogers.com

When does the hockey season
start?
The season starts in beginning of October 2010.
·
How many games and practices are in the House
League?
For Tyke to Minor
Midget age groups, there are 1 game per week
usually on Saturdays and 1 practice per week
usually on weeknights. For Midget and Juvenile
age groups, there is only 1 game per week
usually on weeknights (no practices).

What is the Timbits / Beginners Hockey School
program?
The
Timbits program offers new young players how to skate
and learn to play hockey at the
same time. They are on the ice for 1 hour every
Saturdays either at Don Montgomery or Centennial
Arena. They must be dressed in their full
hockey gear as per "Player Equipment" link on
the left hand side. We will provide jerseys and
socks for every Timbits.

Where do I sign up to be a house
league coach?
You will enter your willingness
to volunteer on the online registration.
·
I am moving to a new home. What
address do I put on the form if we have not
moved yet?
Please use your new address when
registering. If you do not have your new phone
number as yet - put in the phone number you have
now. Once you have moved re-enter the online
registration system using your ID name and
password. Click on Change account information on
the right side and change your address and phone
number. If the season has commenced, please
advise your child’s coach of the new phone #.

Can I obtain a Children’s Fitness
Tax Credit Receipt?
Yes, the online registration
receipt is your official receipt and can be
printed at any time.
